I use this app with others GPS systems in sea navegation. This app Is easier and efficient than the others.
The charts are really precise around the Caribbean. I hope they update the rest of South American east coast with the same detail.
Very happy with this app it is worth every penny. I used the Navionics app with my iPhone as my backup chartplotter to my Garmin on a trip down from Annapolis Maryland through Florida, Cuba, Mexico, Belize and Guatemala and it worked perfectly. When you buy the app you have to then download the charts for the region you wish to travel—it does not automatically download all the charts, however, they REALLY ARE INCLUDED with the app purchase price, unlike what Garmin does where you can basically purchase a catalogue and then you are free to purchase separate regions at significant expense. Im planning to replace my Garmin plotter with an iPad and these charts.
Some bad moments
A huge disappointment. I bought the Navionics App for BC, Canada, and all the charts were included.
With this one, NO charts are included, and without WiFi or 3G, unable to download a map, or even get the price for the area I want. Also, cannot find the maps in the iTunes store, so a complete waste of money.
It worked superbly before. Now it boots you out after clicking OK on the agreement to terms. It needs an update to fix bugs so it can be 5 stars again.
Crashes more often than a drunk teenager! Other than that the charts are dead accurate and fast.
No need to buy any expensive Marin charts device got it on my phone. It works excellent.
There is a black out spot in the map in the center of the BVI that seems not to be something that can be fixed. Ive deleted and redownloaded the BVI detail many times.
Makes this app totally useless to me.
dont expect the maps or charts to be in the app when you download it u have to choose the ones u want and if you dont have
a wifi it takes forever if it downloads at all.
